At this time, there are three credentials acceptable to the FAA for conducting non-aerobatic formation flight in waivered airspace; an FAA Form 8710-7, Statement of Acrobatic Competency with a “Formation Aerobatics" limitation affixed, industry cards with a 2002 Formation and Safety Team (FAST) seal affixed, and for non-warbirds, an industry card with a 2002 seal affixed issued by Formation Flying , Inc. (FFI).
